Jeremie Cohen a trouvé la mort en février après avoir été percuté par un tramway après avoir été frappé.
Deux suspects âgés de 27 et de 23 ans ont été mis en examen vendredi avant d’être écroués après la mort de Jeremie Cohen. Le procureur de Bobigny Eric Mathais a précisé que les jeunes hommes ont été mis en examen du chef de "violences volontaires en réunion" pour l’un et "violences volontaires ayant entraîné la mort sans intention de la donner" pour l’autre. Dans un communiqué, le parquet a souligné que les deux suspects s’étaient présentés spontanément à la police mardi 12 avril avant d’être placés en garde à vue. Il a requis leur placement en détention provisoire, relate Le Parisien.
Pendant leur garde à vue, les déclarations des suspects sur la "chronologie des événements" ont suggéré notamment que les violences seraient à mettre en lien avec le comportement de la victime, auquel ils auraient réagi en lui portant des coups.
Le procureur de Bobigny a réitéré que jusqu’ici, il n’existe toujours aucun élément objectif permettant de caractériser un motif discriminatoire, en particulier antisémite, à l’origine des violences.
Jeremie Cohen, âgé de 31 ans et porteur d’un handicap léger a traversé les voies ferrées quand il a été percuté par le tramway à Bobigny (Seine-Saint-Denis) mercredi 16 février vers 20 heures.
Le journal rappelle que cet homme de confession juive a été frappé par plusieurs jeunes avant cet incident.
