Les annonces du président de la république commentées sur le plateau d’Antenne Réunion avec le docteur Geoffroy Rambaud, cardiologue à la Clinique Sainte-Clotilde et membre de l’Union régionale des médecins libéraux de La Réunion. Il réagit en premier lieu sur le confinement prolongé jusqu’au 11 mai.
"On a deux situations différentes entre la Métropole et à La Réunion. Ici, ce délai paraît raisonnable et tenable. On a eu la chance à La Réunion d’avoir très peu de cas, nous n’avons pas eu le pic dramatique de la Métropole, où je pense que ça va être un peu juste cette date du 11 mai. Cette épidémie devrait encore durer plusieurs mois."
A partir du 11 mai, le président promet des masques grand public, le ministre de la Santé a détaillé ces masques, ils seront en tissu et utilisables plusieurs fois.
"C’est une bonne chose, depuis le début on aurait dû avoir des masques, ça n’a pas été le cas et tout le monde connait les problèmes qu’il y a eu sur les approvisionnement, c’est encore le cas, ça commence à arriver à La Réunion. Il faut économiser ces masques, les utiliser à bon escient. Il ne faut pas les mettre quand on est seul dans sa voiture. C’est mieux de mettre un masque quand on fait ses courses."
